My name is Rory Cantu and I have been working with individuals with special needs for over ten years in many different capacities, ranging from special recreation and special Olympics to direct and personal support as well as case management (Service Facilitation and ISSA).
I have worked for special recreation associations, state funded providing agencies, as well as private organizations (education and health and fitness) and have also provided Respite Care and support for private families as well. I have a Bachelors degree in Fitness Management and a concentration in Business Administration as well as holding certifications in Direct Support Professional (DSP), Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP).
After spending several years in this field, I have found that amongst the many unique challenges families face, is the challenge of finding a qualified and experienced personal caregivers to provide respite care and support. Far too often, families struggle to find support that is trustworthy and can provide the level of care needed for their family member with a disability. An experienced and trustworthy caregiver can enrich the lives of both the family and the individual being served. Working with an experienced caregiver will allow the individual being served to improve upon daily life skills, increase socialization and communication, and can also expand upon their life opportunities. Helping to improve the quality of life for those in need is the single most important piece of motivation for starting Respite Care Resources.
Our Mission is simple: TO CONNECT YOU TO A COMPASSIONATE AND EXPERIENCED SPECIAL NEEDS FOCUSED CAREGIVER.
